Fabled Honey

In the woods, there lived a bear who loved honey. He loved honey so much he would destroy 10 hives a day to eat until he was full. All the bees in the woods met to discuss their bear problem before they were all homeless.

At first, they tried to negotiated with the bear.

“If you promise to stop destroying the hives, we will give you some honey from each of our hives,” the bees said.

“But that won’t fill me up, I need all the honey,” said the bear.

The bees went back to their hives. The next day the bees went to the bear again to try and negotiate.

“If you promise to stop destroying the hives, half of the hives will give you all their honey,” offered the bees.

“But that won’t fill me up, I need all the honey,” replied the bear.

The bees went back to their hives. The next day to bees went to the bear again.

“Have you come to give me all the honey?” asked the bear.

“Yes, we have,” said the bees.

The bees surrounded the bear in a tight cocoon and went into hibernation. Two thousand years, the bees woke from their hibernation and flew back to their hives. The bear had been compressed into a tiny, plastic, bear-shaped jar.

A man walking in the woods found it and thought “this will make the perfect jar to sell honey in.” And to this day all the honey is put in a bear jar to sell. But the bees made him plastic so he can’t eat any of it because the bear was selfish and greedy.
